Dr. Robiaun Rogers Charles, CFRE

Problem Solver. Strategist. Builder. Founder. CEO.

Dr. Charles has provided executive leadership for advancement initiatives at The University of Texas at Austin during its $3 billion Campaign for Texas, Agnes Scott College’s $100 million Greatness Before Us campaign, the University of Evansville’s $80 million UEnvision campaign, and Johnson C. Smith University’s Campaign for Biddle Hall, each exceeding its goal. As a philanthropic management consultant, she has professionally counseled institutions on capital and comprehensive campaigns ranging from $1 million to $3.2 billion in scope. Her career spans leadership roles at a women’s liberal arts college, an R1 flagship university, an HBCU, and a comprehensive university, giving her a distinctive cross-sector perspective on institutional advancement and equity-centered fundraising.
Through ECG, she provides campaign counsel, feasibility studies, executive coaching, and strategic advisory services designed to align fundraising strategy with culturally responsive leadership. She is especially passionate about supporting women in leadership and cultivating sustainable cultures of philanthropy within institutions.
She earned her Doctorate in Higher Education Policy and Leadership from Vanderbilt University and holds the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential. Dr. Charles serves in national leadership roles, including board of trustee service with Talladega College and Rollins College, where she is the Immediate Past President of the Alumni Advisory Board.
A proud Atlanta native, Dr. Charles grounds her life and work in the belief that higher education and holistic development are transformative forces, not only for individuals, but for families, communities, and future generations. She is the proud mother of Camille, a junior at Spelman College.
